During an assessment under our new approach
Date of Assessment: 28 January 2025 to 11 March 2025.
Castor Lodge Care Home is a residential care service supporting people who may be living with dementia.
We carried out this assessment because of safeguarding concerns and complaints we received.
At this assessment we found the service was in breach of two regulations of the Health and Social Care Act (2014) in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
Care plans and risk assessments for people were not always clear or up to date and the provider’s quality checks were not always effective at identifying areas for improvement.
However, people and their relatives told us they were happy with the support staff provided. Staff knew how to report a safeguarding concern and the action to take following an incident.
We found the environment was safe and facilities and equipment were well maintained.
