We chose which three people we wanted to visit, and speak with about the service. All those people, and in some cases, their family members told us that they were very happy with the support they received. One person said the agency was recommended to them. And that using Domus Healthcare North Yorkshire was a very good decision. All the people knew who was in charge at the office and were confident that any issues raised would be sorted out straight away. All said that there had been one occasion when the support worker didn't visit. In each case they had been contacted by the service in advance, to be told of this. These omissions were due to the severe weather last December which prevented the support worker reaching their home. All were satisfied with the way this challenge was managed by the service.People spoke highly of the support workers who visit them. Comments include 'they are fantastic, they are encouraging, uplifting and gentle'. Another said they were 'courteous and respectful'. And a third said 'It all works very well. I like to retain my independence. They check I'm ok, have taken all my medicines and that I'm wearing my lifeline'.
People told us they felt very safe and they trust the workers who visit. One person said 'they tell me every move before we do anything and check that I'm alright. They keep me covered up and make sure I don't get cold'.
