During our inspection we spoke with three relatives of people who use the service. We also spoke with six members of staff including the registered manager, a branch nurse, a senior care assistant, two health care assistants and the senior branch consultant. We looked at comment cards and records to help us understand the views of the people who use the service.

One person who uses the service told us 'the care staff and nurses are so caring it is brilliant, I am always supported and they are so helpful'. Another person told us 'the staff are fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble'.

Staff we spoke with felt fully supported and enjoyed working at Advantage Healthcare. One member of staff told us 'the support we get is amazing, we are allocated a nurse to help and support us when needed'. Another member of staff told us 'the training is thorough, and we get all the help we need'.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to the relatives of people who use the service due complexity of need and geographical locations to ascertain opinions regarding the quality of service provision. All these relatives lived with their family member so had detailed knowledge and experience of the service. All the relatives we spoke to were happy with the quality of care their relatives received. One relative described all the staff as 'amazing' and 'approachable and amenable'. Another relative told us 'the service is wonderful' and when we asked about treating their family member with dignity and respect they told us that staff 'go over and above' to provide a high quality service.

We saw that people experienced safe and effective care based on detailed care plans and risk assessments that met individual needs.

Staff received ongoing training and supervision which provided them with the skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the people they were supporting.

We spoke to staff and reviewed records which showed us that people were protected from abuse and that their care was planned and delivered in a respectful and safe way.

The Provider had effective systems in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service.
