During a routine inspection

We spoke with two service users, one family member and three of the carers who provide the support to those using the service. All spoke very positively about how they were involved in the initial assessment process and making decisions about how the support plan was developed and delivered. Comments made included; 'I am very happy that my feelings are listened to and I am asked my opinion'. Another said 'I have been fully involved at all stages and have been asked my views about how my relative is supported by the scheme.' A carer told us that 'The 'matching' process is very good and tries to make sure we are the most suitable person to support the person using the service'.

We found that Tameside Shared Lives Scheme had made appropriate arrangements to assess the needs of people using the service and to ensure this was done safely and appropriately.
