One person told us that 'someone from Southern Cross visited and talked to me about my care and I said it was good'.

She said she enjoyed her meals, and people are asked what we want by the kitchen assistant. It was confirmed that there was an option of a cooked breakfast and flexible times to have meals

'I like eggs or bacon and I can have supper if I want to, something hot'.

However we were told that sometimes people have to ask for drinks as they were not regularly offered.

People we spoke with identified that they could have their own routines and sit in the lounge during the day and go to their bedroom when they wanted.

We were told that one person used to read but there were no books at the home so got 'out of the habit'.

It was confirmed to us that there were weekly entertainments. One person told us she enjoyed these however 'I don't like bingo or dominoes so don't join in those. I preferred quizzes or watching TV.'

Another person we spoke to indicated he was well cared for, that staff were polite and treated him well and responsive to his needs. He indicated he liked living at Amber Court and nodded his head said saying 'it's all Ok, know what I mean'.
