All inspections: Allington House - Stockton-on-Tees

We spoke to two people who use the service and the relatives of another resident at the home. People said they had the opportunity to look around the home before they moved in. Relatives confirmed they had been involved in the review of care plans, but would have preferred clearer communication about the process for review.

Two people we spoke to had their hair done on the day we visited the service. One person told us they enjoyed the bingo and dominos when they happened, but would have liked more activities to be organised. People reported they got enough to eat and drink.

People reported that the 'staff are very down to earth' and 'the new manager seems quite nice'. The relatives we spoke to said 'most of the girls working here are fantastic. One of the nurses is able to update me on our family members health, straight away, whenever we ask'.

All the people we spoke to said they were offered a choice at mealtimes of what they would like to eat and drink and were happy that their rooms were kept clean.

During our visit the people who used the service told us that the staff are very busy and not always available to attend to their needs when they ring the buzzer. One person said 'the staff are nice but they are so busy"

We spoke to five people who use the service Allington House who all said they felt that there wasn't enough staff on duty to meet all their needs.
