During a routine inspection

People who used the service told us they were well looked after. One person said, 'It's alright here. I like doing things with my keyworker.' Another person said, 'The staff are nice.' Another person talked about a recent experience where they felt they were supported well by staff from Mayfield House.

Care records contained information to show people's individual needs, likes and dislikes were taken into consideration when care was delivered. However, some care documentation was incomplete and provided conflicting information. The management auditing process had identified that the care planning process could improve.

There was enough equipment to promote the independence and comfort of people who used the service. Staff were confident using the equipment in the home and had been trained to use it properly.

We spoke with four members of staff and three members of the management team. They said people received good care and were supported by suitably skilled and experienced staff.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of the service that people received. We looked at a number of records which showed regular checks were carried out to help make sure people who used the service benefitted from safe quality care.

During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We followed up one area of non-compliance identified in a previous inspection. We reviewed evidence and found the provider was compliant with regulation 23 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Outcome 14: Supporting Workers).
