Date of assessment: 21 to 29 April 2026.

Baily House is a 'care home' offering accommodation to a maximum of 68 people. There were 57 people living at the service on the day of our inspection.

We found some environmental issues which were shared with the provider and immediately addressed.

People were protected from all forms of abuse and staff had the skills to meet people’s needs.

People’s needs were identified and risks associated with their specific needs were assessed.

The service was clean, and staff understood how to manage infection control risks. All necessary checks had been completed to ensure the safety of the environment and equipment.

Staff were safely recruited and appropriately deployed to ensure people’s needs were promptly met.

Medicines were managed safely.

Staff were kind, compassionate and enjoyed their role caring for people. They told us they were well supported by the registered manager who listened to them and acted upon suggestions or issues they raised.

There were robust systems and processes to support the registered manager to identify and address quality concerns and risks.

People's experience of the service

Updated 8 April 2026

People told us they felt safe and well cared for.

Some people told us they thought that the home could improve but were unable to give details as to what needed to improve.

We observed staff were attentive to people’s needs and treated people with respect and dignity. People had access to activities both within the home and in the community also. There was a well-attended choir, named ‘The Baily Wailer’ which people enjoyed.

People felt able to raise concerns and were assured that these would be addressed.
