Updated 9 September 2025

Date of assessment: 22 September 2025 to 7 October 2025. The Lawrence is a residential care home, providing support to younger adults, some of whom were living with a learning disability and/or autism. The service can support up to 14 people, and at the time of our assessment 14 people were living at the service. We assessed the service due to the length of time since the last inspection.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.

Right support:Support plans and risk assessments identified potential risks to people’s safety. staff knew people’s needs well and how to support them. Our observations of staff supporting the person confirmed staff had a person-centred approach. There were suitable numbers of staff available to meet people's assessed needs.

Right care:Staff told us they were provided with sufficient information and guidance for them to provide safe care and reduce risk. We found care was in line with people’s needs. The service encouraged people to set meaningful goals and focus on where they wanted to be in their lives. The provider made sure people could access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it.

Right culture:We received positive feedback about the staff working at The Lawrence. People’s care and support plans reflected any changes to their health and wellbeing. The service worked in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA).
