Our inspection took place on 9 March 2026. We visited because the service had an aged rating and required a full review of quality and safety under our new assessment approach. The home provides care and support for older people, including people living with dementia.
A small and well-established care team provided person‑centred care, were knowledgeable and knew people well. The service had demonstrated improvements in assessing people’s mental capacity since our last full inspection.
The environment was homely, warm and welcoming, although improvements were needed to the layout and some fixtures and fittings to ensure that the service could support people living with a dementia well. The provider was working towards this and planned to consult best practice, people living in the home and staff in future in planned renovations.
Staff understood how to keep people safe and risk assessments that were person centred and informed staff how to meet people’s needs well through comprehensive care interventions.
Health professionals were complimentary about care staff responsiveness to peoples changing health needs, including how they implemented advice and actively sought support for people.
Staff were observed to be caring and compassionate in responses to people.
Staff told us they felt supported, although this could be improved, and the provider told us how they were looking at strengthening recognition and support for staff across their registered locations.
