Comments from people included, “They listen to whatever we want and do it.” “Lovely food can choose if we don’t like what’s offered.” “I have no worries I chose to come here”. “They talked to me before I came so they knew what I needed help with and how I like things done.” “They sort out appointments, we have lots of choice of activities things to do, there is a sheet every week with things to do on.”

Staff understood person centred care and were able to explain how they ensured people were given choice and control in their lives. Staff spoke positively about people and gave examples of person centred care. Care plans were person centred and demonstrated the involvement of people, reflecting their choices and needs. These were regularly reviewed and updated as people's needs changed. A person was employed specifically to maintain up to date plans and risk assessments, using both the electronic and paper systems.
