During a routine inspection

On the day of our visit we saw evidence from four patient records that consent forms were signed. Staff we spoke with were aware of gaining consent for treatment. One person said "I had lots of questions about the pros and cons; I felt the staff managed my expectations well to help me reach the right decision.' Another person told us 'I was given a cooling off period to ensure I had made the right decision.'

People who used the service told us that information had been provided to them which had enabled them to make decisions about their care and treatment. We observed throughout our inspection that staff treated people with respect and protected their dignity during their treatment. One person told us 'The staff have been really nice and respectful all the way through.'

We found that there was an effective recruitment process in place which ensured staff had the skills to meet people's needs safely.

We found that people who used the service were supported to raise any concerns. We saw that concerns were dealt with effectively and in a timely way.

We saw that people's personal records were accurate and fit for purpose and were kept securely.

TMG provided information to support people in their choice, decision and understanding of cosmetic surgery procedures. A care plan was in place for people reflecting their choice and documenting treatment and the patient pathway from consultation to discharge.

People said staff were helpful and they felt comfortable asking questions. They told us that they had received a 'booklet' about the cosmetic procedure of their choice. People confirmed that they had a number of consultations and medical checks and that they had signed consent for their treatment. The consultation covered benefits and risks, treatment options and costs.

People we spoke with who had received surgery said they were satisfied with the outcome. People said nursing staff had observed them after their operation and their dressings were attended to. We were informed that an appointment would take place with the nurse six weeks after hospital discharge and they would meet with the surgeon after three months to be reviewed and discharged from the clinic.

The hospital was clean and well organised. There were systems in place to minimise the risk of infection and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

Staff were supported so that they could provide care and treatment to people who use the service. The work of staff was supervised, monitored, and appraised. Management systems were in place to gather, record and evaluate information on the safety and quality of the service.
