Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 5 April 2025

Date of assessment 7 May to 9 May 2025. Dame Alice Court is an Extra Care scheme with on-site care staff who provide support to people living in their own flats within one building. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection 10 people were receiving support with personal care.

People had not always received the medicines they were prescribed due to running out of stock. This was due to issues with the prescribers’ systems not aligning with people’s care needs. We have signposted the provider to steps they can take to improve this. However, staff and managers understood their duty to safeguard people from abuse. People’s needs had been assessed and were met. People were involved in their care planning. There were systems to seek and act on feedback from people. Enough trained staff were deployed, and they told us they felt supported. A staff member said, “I love working here, it’s a lovely place to work and staff treat people with such respect.”
