Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 25 November to 18 December 2025. The service is a care home providing personal and nursing care to people with mental health conditions, physical disabilities and people living with dementia. The service is divided into several units and can support up to 99 people. At the time of our assessment 59 people were using the service. Some units were closed at the time of our assessment.

We carried out an assessment looking at all quality statements to be able to provide an overall rating as the service is not rated. We had carried out a focused assessment in May 2024 and looked at safe and well led, which are currently rated requires improvement. Our decision to inspect the service was to determine if improvements had been made and to give an overall rating.

People were protected and kept safe. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience and staff received training and support to maintain good quality care. Staff managed medicines and people received their medicines safely. However, we identified some issues, which were addressed immediately by the provider. People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was delivered in line with people's needs. Care delivery we observed was predominantly person-centred. Care plans were regularly reviewed, and people were referred to local healthcare services as required. Staff followed clinical guidance for people’s care and support. The registered manager had the skills, knowledge, and experience to lead effectively, they did so with openness and honesty. The service had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. We identified some concerns with the environment, which the provider assured us was being improved. Following our site visit works commenced to address this. Governance had improved, and the provider was continually looking at ways to further improve systems. However, the systems needed embedding into practice and sustaining.
