Our view of the service
Our onsite assessment was undertaken on 21 July 2026 and was unannounced Diagnostic imaging services provided at this location included: Xrays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed tomography (CT) scanning, mammography, ultrasound and fluoroscopy. The service accepted referrals from a consultant for both private and NHS patients.
Between 1 June 2025 and 30 June 2026 there were 26994 diagnostic tests undertaken at Spire Little Aston Hospital.
To get to the heart of patients’ experiences of care and treatment, we ask the same five questions of all services: are they safe, effective, caring, responsive to people's needs, and well-led? Where we have a legal duty to do so we rate services’ performance against each key question as outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate. Throughout the inspection, we took account of what people told us and how the provider understood and complied with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
This is the first comprehensive assessment of diagnostics (it was previously assessed as part of the outpatients core service in June 2019 and was rated good). This was an assessment of Diagnostics only.
The quality of care and treatment of children aged between 16 and 18 years of age undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures was not reviewed as part of the assessment of diagnostic imaging.
