During a routine inspection

People spoke positively about the staff and felt that they supported their care needs. People said that the staff spoke with them in respectful way, respected their privacy and encouraged their independence. One person said, 'They are absolutely brilliant'.

People spoken with told us that their care was personalised to their needs. People said their preferred names were always used. One person said, 'If I need a little extra doing one day they just do it'.

People were aware of their care plan although could not always recall the detail. They confirmed that they and sometimes their family had been involved in discussions about their care, when the service had first started.

People felt that staff had received training and had the necessary skills in order to meet their needs.

People told us that they felt safe when staff visited and if they had any concerns they would speak with a family member or somebody from the office. People were confident any concerns would be addressed.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to people who use the service and their carers over the telephone. They told us that before their care started with the service a member of staff from the agency visited them in their home to find out about the support and care that they would need.

They said that they were asked lots of questions about their past history, medical conditions, the medicines that they took and how they would like to be cared for.

People told us they were very happy with the staff and said they did a very good job. They said they were flexible and did their best to make sure people received the care they need.

People said that they had regular staff who knew them and new staff were introduced when necessary. They said the service was reliable and the staff were kind and caring. Overall people said carers arrived on time and stayed for the duration of the call.
