Our view of the service
Our view of the Service
At this inspection, we rated the surgical service as Good overall. The service had made improvements since the previous inspection and was no longer in breach of regulations. Leadership visibility, day‑to‑day teamwork and interpersonal culture were positive. Staff consistently demonstrated kindness, compassion and professional respect, and people told us they felt safe within clinical areas. Leaders were visible and approachable and fostered a culture of psychological safety.
Since the last inspection, the senior leadership team (SLT) had changed and had implemented more robust governance systems. Staff now routinely assessed and mitigated risks, care plans and record‑keeping better supported safe practice, and mandatory training compliance had improved.
People's experience of this service
Patients we spoke to were very positive about their experience, they felt safe and cared for the service was responsive and patients felt their needs were met. They were given pain relief and told us the staff were excellent. The Friends and Family Test also indicated patient satisfaction with the service.
