Our view of the service
In our assessment of surgery, we found that patient areas were welcoming and safe for patient care. Staff knew how to keep patients safe and were supported to do so. Leaders were focused on good outcomes for all patients who met the inclusion criteria. Staff provided compassionate care where privacy and dignity were maintained. Staff communicated well with patients and those close to them and put them at ease through their stay. The service worked with the community to best understand and deliver care to patients. Leaders were focused on continuous improvement and following changes in management, these were now being embedded.
