Our view of the service
Oaklands Hospital is an acute Independent Health hospital operated by Ramsay Health Care UK Operations Limited based in Salford, Greater Manchester. The hospital provides a range of elective inpatient and day case surgical procedures for NHS and private fee-paying adult patients, including general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), cosmetic surgery and bariatric (weight loss) surgery. The hospital also provides a range of outpatient and diagnostic imaging services for adults. The main service provided by this hospital was surgery.
We commenced a responsive assessment of the surgery service on 28 February 2025 because of concerns identified in Statutory Notifications and contact cases. We carried out an unannounced inspection on 13 March 2025.
Our assessment only looked at the surgery service at Oaklands Hospital. Our findings for surgery services can be found in the services section of this report.
