Updated 25 February 2026

Seaview is a residential care home, registered to provide accommodation, personal care and support for up to 5 people, with a learning disability and/or autism. At the time of our inspection, 4 people were living in the home.

This assessment took place on the 2 March 2026 to 10 of March 2026. We visited the service on 2 March 2026. This assessment was prompted by a review of the information we held about this service. As a result, we undertook a comprehensive assessment to review the key questions of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led. During the assessment, we looked at 33 quality statements. The assessment was unannounced. The inspection team consisted of 1 inspector. Onsite we spoke with the registered manager, 2 staff members, and 2 people living at the service. After our visit to the service, we had feedback from 7 staff, and 2 relatives.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.

Care was delivered in the least restrictive manner, always prioritising the best interests of those supported. Risks relating to individuals' care were assessed and staff clearly understood their duty to ensure people’s safety. Staff members expressed that they felt appreciated and well-supported by the management team.

The registered manager ensured a positive culture and worked closely with external health and social care professionals and families. Staff were equipped with the necessary training to perform their roles effectively, and robust safeguarding systems were in place to protect individuals from abuse. This proactive approach ensured that the rights and safety of those receiving care were consistently prioritised.

People's experience of the service

Updated 25 February 2026

We carried out observations of staff interactions with people and the care delivered. We observed people being supported on a 1 to 1 staffing ratio. This support was appropriate to people’s needs and meant people did not have to wait to be supported. People seemed relaxed and well cared for. People and relatives shared positive feedback on the care and support provided to people at Seaview. One relative said, “My [relative] is happy and has a lot of activities, I can talk to the staff anytime and the registered manager is on top of staff training.” Another told us, “I am very happy with my [relative] being at Seaview.”

The provider demonstrated they were working within the principles of ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance’ and people were fully involved in the service. People were offered support to maintain their independence. Staff facilitated visits to the local and wider community and sourced activities which were meaningful and person centred.

There was a consistent and well established staff team, with no staffing vacancies and no agency use. One staff member said, “Working at Seaview has been amazing, and I enjoy adequate support from the entire team.”
