We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 22 May 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place.
The practice had systems to manage risks.
Overall, there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice had recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, improvements should be made to ensure these were consistently followed.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Smile Clinic North Leeds is part of Mr Sandeep Sharma, a dental group provider. The practice is in Leeds and provides NHS and private orthodontic care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms.At the time of our inspection, the dental team consisted of 3 specialist orthodontists, 2 orthodontic therapists, 5 dental nurses (including 1 trainee), 2 receptionists and the practice manager.
During the inspection we spoke with 3 specialist orthodontists, 2 dental nurses, and a senior practice manager for the group. The group’s operations manager was also at the inspection.
Staff feedback forms were shared with the team ahead of the inspection, giving staff an opportunity to confidentially share their views about the practice. We received 5 responses, which were considered as part of the inspection.
