During a routine inspection

At the time of our visit there were five people living in Pines care home. We observed people being treated with dignity and respect. We observed people being spoken with in a way that was consistent with information in their care plan.

We spoke with three people living at Pines care home who told us they liked living there and that the staff were all very supportive. One person told us that the staff were a happy and helpful bunch. People told us that they felt safe living at Pines care home and that they would feel confident in raising concerns if they had any. People told us that they would feel listened to by staff, and actions would be taken to resolve the situation.

People were fully involved in planning their support and treatment and in making day to day decisions. People told us that they had been asked their views on the recent refurbishment which had taken place.

Staff received appropriate training and support. Training files and supervision records were up to date. We spoke with two members of staff who told us that they felt supported by management and could raise concerns or issues.

The provider had effective monitoring systems in place to assess the quality of the service provided. We saw that senior management undertook regular quality assurance checks. Staff and residents were able to express their opinions.
