During the visit we spoke to three people who live at Ayresome Court. People told us that they were consulted about aspects of life within the home, including meals, activities, preference of where to spend their days as some people prefer to stay in their own rooms. They also said they were treated with respect by the staff. One person said, 'I spend the day the way I want, I like to go out for a walk and sit outside'. Another person said, 'The staff always knock on the door, all staff treat me with respect'.

The three people we spoke to during our visit were pleased with the care provided to them and believed their needs were being met. They said, 'I am confident with the staff and with the equipment they use, the call bell is answered almost straight away'. 'The staff are all very nice, very pleasant and they help you when you want'.

There were mixed views from people spoken to during the site visit about the sufficiency of staff within Ayresome Court. One person said, 'I don't think there are enough staff for the people who live here, I know that they are under pressure'. One person gave an example of having to wait 15 ' 20 minutes to go to the toilet and said this happened at least once a day. Another person thought the staffing levels were 'generally ok although sometimes a little short'.

People said that resident meeting do take place however, two of the three people decline to attend. The person who does attend could not recall seeing any notes of the meeting. People could not recall completing or being asked to complete any surveys in respect of their views of the service.
