Independence, choice and control
The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care,treatment and wellbeing.
The feedback we received from people using the service and their relatives indicated that people’s right to be involved in their care was respected, their input valued, and the support they received was tailored to meet their specific needs and preferences. People were supported to pursue their own interests, build confidence, and engage in meaningful routines that align with their goals.
A person said, “This place is splendid,and I feel free to do what I want.” Relatives shared positive feedback about the personalised support their family members received. A relative told us, “They [Person using the service] decide what they want to do, and when they want to do it.” Another relative commented, “People are encouraged not forced to do something.”
