During an inspection looking at part of the service

We were told that staff listened to and acted upon requests, and supported people to live their lives as they wished.

People told us that their care needs were met and that the food provided suited peoples personal choices and the quality had improved.

Relatives stated that communication with staff and the manager had been good.

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were not always involved in the development of their care plans and that their consent to care and treatment was not always obtained. Some people, who live in the home, and their relatives, said that individual interests and activities were not well supported on a daily basis. They said that there could be more to do in the home and in providing the opportunity to go out into the local community. There were some very positive comments made in regard to the staff. These included compliments about the carers and nurses working in the home. However, some relatives thought that at times there were not enough staff. People we spoke to gave differing opinions of the food and meals provided in the home. Some residents and relatives thought the meals were satisfactory
