Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 13 May 2026. Ashbury Lodge is a residential care home providing support to up to 44 older people, including people living with dementia. We carried out this inspection to follow up on breaches in regulation identified in the previous inspection and to check whether improvements had been made. We inspected 6 quality statements across the safe and well led domains. Improvements had been made in relation to people’s safe care and treatment and governance. The provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
Accidents and incidents were now being followed up appropriately and learning from incidents was taking place.
Safeguarding incidents were now being shared appropriately with all relevant authorities.
The risks relating to fire doors had been addressed and appropriate equipment was in place to maintain people’s safety. Staff were following people’s care plans where risks were identified.
The service was clean and there were effective control measures to reduce the risk of infection spreading.
The registered manager now had systems to ensure effective oversight of the service.
People's experience of this service
During this assessment, we received feedback from one person on the day of our visit. This was due to limited availability of people and relatives at the time of the assessment. The feedback we did receive was positive about the care provided.
At the previous inspection, a larger number of people and their relatives shared their views, and the feedback was consistently positive about the service. This helped to provide additional assurance about people’s experiences of care.
