Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 13 November 2025.
Manley Court Care Home is a residential care home. At the time of the inspection the service was providing personal and nursing to 82 people, some living with dementia or physical disabilities. The service can support up to 85 people. The accommodation was spread over four separate units all with communal living and dining areas.
The assessment was carried out because of the length of time since our last comprehensive rating. The last rating for the service ‘Requires Improvement’, published 23 January 2025. This inspection was a focused inspection which looked at one quality statement only.
During our inspection (Published 27 February 2023), we found breaches of our regulations in relation to the management of risks to people, medicines management and monitoring the quality of the service. At this inspection we found that improvements had been made, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
During the inspection we spoke with the home manager, deputy manager, regional support manager, regional support and quality manager, the head of operational quality, 8 staff, the chef and the activities coordinator. We also spoke with health and social care professionals who provided their views and opinions on the care provided to people at the service.
We found people were protected from risk of abuse and risks to people were managed well. Recruitment checks had taken place before staff started working at the service. There were enough staff to support people and meet their needs. Risks to people had been assessed to ensure their needs were safely met. People had access to health care professionals when they needed them, and they received their medicines when needed. There were systems in place to help prevent and control infections. Staff were trained in areas related to peoples care needs and they received regular supervision. There was a complaints procedure in place in formats that people could understand.
The provider did not have a registered manager in post. The current manager had been working at the home for 2 months. They had applied to CQC to become the registered manager for the service.
There were systems in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service, and any learning was identified and acted on. People using the service and staffs’ views were considered through surveys and meetings. Staff told us they received good support from the manager.
