All Inspections

19 July 2012

During a routine inspection

We spoke with people about Beacholme. They included the owner and people who lived at the home. We also had responses from external agencies such as social services in order to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced living at the home.

The owner told us the home was run as a normal domestic household. Both people who lived at the home participated in all normal family activities. Both residents spoke highly of the owner and regarded him as a father figure. Comments included, "This is my home and family." Also, "He has been a dad to me."

The owner and residents told us friends were made welcome and were able to stay overnight. The owner said, "We recently had one of the friends stay and visit a while."

As part of the inspection process we spoke with social services for a view of how the home

operated. They told us they had no issues in respect of the delivery of care or safeguarding concerns.
