Reliable Community Care Services Ltd is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care and support to people living in their own homes. Not everyone using Reliable Community Care Services Ltd receives a regulated activity. CQC onlyinspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal care and hygiene and eating. At the time of our assessment 7 people were receiving the regulated activity of ‘personal care’.

The service was registered with CQC on 16 March 2022, and this was the first assessment. We have rated the service good.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.

Although at the time of our assessment the service was not providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people, we found the provider was meeting the principles of Right support, right care, right culture and staff were appropriately trained.

We spoke with the registered manager, the care coordinator and 3 staff members. We also received feedback from health and social care professionals. We looked at 3 people’s care records and records relating to the management of the service. We found risks to people had been assessed to ensure their needs were safely met. There were safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures in place and staff had a clear understanding of these. Appropriate recruitment checks had taken place before staff started working at the service. There were enough staff to support people and meet their needs. People had access to health care professionals when they needed them, and they received their medicines when they needed them. There were systems in place to help prevent and control infections.

Staff had received training related to people’s care needs and they received regular supervision from the registered manager and care coordinator. People’s dignity and privacy was respected, and they were supported to maximise their independence. There was a complaints procedure in place in formats that people could understand.

The registered manager demonstrated good knowledge of people’s needs and the needs of the staffing team. There were systems in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service, and any learning was identified and acted on. People’s opinions about the service were considered through satisfaction surveys, spot checks and telephone monitoring calls. Staff told us they enjoyed working at the service and they received good support from the registered manager and care coordinator.
