During a routine inspection

We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of people using the service. Many people using the service had complex needs which meant they were not able to tell us their experiences. We used the Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a specific way of observing care to help us understand the experience of people who could not talk with us.

People we did speak with told us that staff were a 'good lot' and looked after them well. People also told us that the meal they had just eaten was very nice. Another person told us they were happy they could use the outdoor space.

During an inspection in response to concerns

It was not possible to interview many of the people who live in the home due to their varying levels of confusion/dementia. One person said that they like to spend time in the garden and another said that the staff look after them well.
