Servoca London is a domiciliary (Care at home) service that was first registered with CQC in March 2022. The service is a care at home service currently providing support to adults of all ages living with physica disabiliiesand who require support with personal care and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. This support is supervised by a clinical lead nurse. At the time of our assessment, the service was providing care and support to two people in their own homes each of whom required 24 hour a day care. Each person’s care was contracted from the service by local NHS commissioners.

This was the first assessment of the service since they were registered with CQC, and was carried out by one inspector. Following this assessment, we have rated the service Good.

This provider is required to have a registered manager to oversee the delivery of regulated activities at this location. A registered manager is a person who has registered with the Care Quality Commission to manage the service. Registered managers and providers are legally responsible for how the service is run, for the quality and safety of the care provided and compliance with regulations. At the time of the assessment, there was a registered manager in place.

Care and support was being provided to people who required assistance with managing medical aids, for example a device to assist a person’s breathing. This support was being managed by suitable trained care staff under the supervision of a medically qualified clinical manager. Theproviderhad a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. There had been no significant incidents since the service began to operate. The manager explained the action they would take to investigate incidents if these occurred. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. The manager ensured staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care, including support for people using medical devices and equipment. Training to use the equipment and maintain people’s safety whilst doing so was provided and was under the supervision of a registered nurse who also assessed staff competency to provide that support. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes to their health and care needs.

The performance of the service and the quality of the support that was provided was positively commented upon by people in a recent survey carried out by the provider.

Day to day direct care and support was managed effectively. The registered manager was able to demonstrate their person-centred values towards the people they were supporting.

The provider had effective systems in place to keep the performance of the service under review and to monitor emerging themes, such as changes to peoples’ circumstances and care needs.
