During a routine inspection

We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of people using the service, because the people using the service had complex needs which meant they were not able to tell us their experiences. We spoke to the relative of one person who told us that they were kept informed about their relative's care and were happy with the support they were getting. They commented 'I can visit whenever I want to' and 'X gets to go out a lot'.

We spent time observing people going about their day and we saw that people were relaxed with the staff that supported them. They were engaged in activities in the house, such as making their own drinks and meals and were supported to go out for their social activities. People were treated with respect by the staff supporting them.

A community nurse had recently completed a questionnaire about the service and had commented 'X has required close health monitoring and they have been supported well through this process'.
