Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 21-24 February 2026.
LA Care Ltd is registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes. The service is registered to provide care to both adults and children. At the time of our assessment, 4 adults were receiving support with personal care.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. Staff had undertaken relevant training, and the registered manager had experience of providing nursing care to people with a learning disability. Suitable policies and procedures were in place. The registered manager demonstrated an understanding about how they would apply best practice guidance when supporting people with a learning disability.
The provider assessed and planned for people’s needs and choices. They supported people to set objectives and be involved in making decisions about their care. The provider assessed risks to people’s safety.
There were enough staff to keep people safe and meet their needs. Staff undertook a range of relevant training. Staff felt supported by the registered manager and had opportunities to learn about their roles and responsibilities.
There were effective systems for monitoring and improving the quality of the service. They asked stakeholders for feedback. The provider responded when things went wrong and made improvements following incidents and complaints.
People's experience of this service
People had a good experience using the service. People had good relationships with staff. People felt their needs were met and they were able to make choices about their care.
People had the information they needed about the service in formats they could understand. They found the provider was responsive when they needed changes. People knew who to contact if they had any concerns or questions. They found the registered manager approachable and supportive. A person using the service told us, “They are all very good people. Especially [the registered manager.]” Comments from relatives included, “The care we received from LA Care Ltd is absolutely marvellous” and “The best thing about the agency is the genuine care that is provided from both the office and the care worker.”
