Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The Registered Provider must not admit any service users to Scarletts residential home without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission.

The registered provider must provide a report on how it is ensuring effective oversight and leadership of Scarletts. This report must be submitted to the Commission by 4.00pm every Tuesday.

By 2pm on Monday 25 September 2017, the registered provider must review the individual risk assessments for all service users at Scarletts.

By 2pm on Monday 25 September 2017 the registered provider must have an individual service user risk assessment and associated care plan for every identified health and welfare need. As the registered provider you will need to set out in each individual service user’s care plans how care will be provided to mitigate or minimise the individual service user’s specific risk(s) and how staff will be directed to mitigate the risks to the service user in question. Areas of risk must include, but are not limited to:

¿ Catheter care

¿ Moving and handling

¿ Safe Management of medicines

¿ Management of dementia / anxiety and any related behaviors

¿ Pressure care

¿ Nutrition and Hydration

¿ Self- neglect

¿ Diabetes

¿ Use of bedrails

The registered provider must ensure that they do all that is reasonably practical to mitigate all identified risks to the individual service users in question. This includes ensuring that all relevant documentation is in place and accessible to staff, at all times, and that documentation is reviewed and monitored at appropriate intervals. This system must be in place by 25 September 2017 and on an ongoing basis you must be able to demonstrate its effectiveness in relation to the care being provided. You must ensure current guidance from a reputable source is used to reflect changing and best practice.

The registered provider must ensure audit and governance systems to include weekly audits of care plans and risk assessments are in place by 2pm on 25 September 2017.

Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 50 service users at Scarletts.

The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Scarletts.
