Kindness, compassion and dignity

The provider did not always treat people with kindness, empathy and compassion, or respect their privacy and dignity. Staff did not always treat colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect. The provider did not demonstrate the service provided kind, compassionate and dignified care.

Treating people as individuals

The provider did not treat people as individuals or make sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences. The provider did not take account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics.

Care plan information was not person centred as it did not give full details about them. It did not give information about their religion, culture or first language to ensure these needs were met. There was no information about their background, history or social relationships.
 

Independence, choice and control

The provider did not always promote people’s independence, so people did not always know their rights and have choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.
A care plan indicated independence should be promoted in tasks where it was safe to do so. However, there was no information about what these tasks were, or how to facilitate this.

Responding to people’s immediate needs

The provider did not always listen to and understand people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff did not always respond to people’s needs in the moment or act to minimise any discomfort, concern or distress.

The provider did not demonstrate people’s needs were fully responded to as care plan and risk assessments did not give enough details about how risks were mitigated. The provider did not demonstrate they had systems to respond to people’s changing needs.
 

Workforce wellbeing and enablement
