During a routine inspection

There were ten people using the service at the time of our visit. We met most people and spoke to three people to gain their views of the service.

People told us "I like it here" and "I like the staff". We observed positive and sensitive interactions between people using the service and staff.

People said they were involved in planning the care and support they needed. They told us about the activities they enjoyed. One person said "there are always things to do including movie nights, bingo, pamper sessions and computer sessions and cooking".

We saw that people were involved in regular meetings where they could express their views and bring ideas for improvements. People had access to a local advocacy service so they could talk to an independent person in confidence if they wanted to.

During a themed inspection looking at Learning Disability Services

People spoken with were happy with the support they received from the staff at The Views.

One person was able to talk about their care plans and the support they received from the staff.

Three people told us about the different activities they did throughout the day and told us about the things they enjoyed doing. For example, one person told us that they enjoyed cooking in the therapy kitchen, where they would shop for ingredients and prepare a meal. This person told us told they had made Hawaiian pizza and toasties.

Two patients were able to confirm they understood about abuse. One person told us 'I know what abuse is, if I was worried I would talk to a member of staff, I feel safe here, I haven't seen anyone being hurt, I have a good relationship with staff. '
