During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: We conducted an assessment between 24 to 28 March 2025. The inspection team included a lead inspector, supported by two inspectors, a GP Specialist Advisor (SPA), and a nurse SPA. We carried out the remote clinical searches and remote interviews on 24, 25 March and site visits on 26, 28 March. Cavendish Health Centre is a GP practice that delivers service to 9,478 patients under a contract held with NHS England. The practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to provide the following regulated activities: diagnostic and screening procedures, family planning, maternity and midwifery services, surgical procedures, and treatment of disease, disorder, or injury. The practice informed us they no longer carry out surgical procedures and will be applying to have this removed. At the last inspection, the practice was located at a different address. Leaders told us the move to a new premises helped to increase clinical space to meet the needs of the growing population and service users have responded positively to the change.
The National General Practice Profile shows that 63.01% of registered patients are white, 17.16% are Asian, 4.10% are black, 6.12% are mixed, and 9.61% are other. Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 9 decile (9 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. This assessment considered the demographics of people using the service, the context the service was working within, and how this impacted service delivery.
