All Inspections

3 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with seven people who used the service, the home manager, the care manager and two carers. People using the service praised the service and carers. They told us "we are well looked after", 'we are asked what we want", "staff are very kind" and "I can go to bed and feel safe".

We observed that people were cared for with care and consideration. The staff asked for people's consent and acted in accordance with their wishes. We observed that staff offered options, and people gave their verbal consent before they received care and assistance. People were treated with dignity and respect and the carers supported people at a pace that was comfortable for them.

Records were suitably maintained and fit for purpose.

20 April 2011

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were happy with the care at the home. They said that they were well cared for and that the staff were friendly and supportive.

However, on our visit we found a number of concerns with the cleanliness and infection control, and safety and suitability of premises. For these areas we have asked for immediate improvement.
