During an inspection in response to concerns

During our inspection we spoke to three people and three relatives of people who used the service and eight staff members. People told us they were happy with the service they received from Everlasting Care. One person said, "They treat me as if I was one of their own. The care is marvellous."

We found that people's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plans. One person said, "They're never hurried and always come on time - it's excellent." We found staff were knowledgeable about people's care requirements.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

We found that people's personal records and staff records were not accurate nor fit for purpose.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to four people who used the service and they told us that the service they received was 'really good' and that there were 'no faults'.

They said that the care workers 'arrive on time, nine times out of ten' and they were 'nice and pleasant'.

We were told that when care workers entered their home, they were 'courteous, well trained and knowledgeable about their job'.

People who used the service said they would 'never, ever dream of changing'. One person who used the service said that she is 'spoken to well' and that they 'meet all her needs'.

People spoken to had access to their care plan and we were told that any changes in their care had been discussed with them.

We were told that people who used the service knew who to go to if they had any concerns. They also said they were confident that staff would respond appropriately.
