During a routine inspection

We received information from the manager and feedback about the service from nine people who used the service and four staff. People were complimentary about the service they received from staff and said their care needs were met. Comments about staff included 'I can't fault them in anyway' and"they know what to do.' Another person told us that members of staff go 'out of their way to help'. We were told that members of staff were respectful and polite. Care plans and risk assessments were in place and had been discussed and agreed with people who received the service. Systems were in place to keep them under review. People told us they received a regular service when they wanted it and were routinely provided with the same staff to meet their needs. They told us that staff knew what to do and consulted them on a day to day basis about the help that was required.

Systems were in place to induct and train staff and provide them with regular updates. Their work was monitored through spot checks and supervision. They were aware of the local safeguarding procedures which had recently been followed. Quality assurance procedures were in place and led to improvements. Checks included consultation with people who received the service and staff. This meant that they could influence the service provided by the agency.
