During a routine inspection
We were also told about staff that turned up late, failed to carry out the tasks required, did the absolute minimum and spent people's visit time on their telephones making personal calls.
We talked to people and their relatives about how complaints were dealt with and found that although the manager usually visited and discussed the problem, it was rarely resolved. They told us about quite serious problems that were dismissed or dealt with inappropriately.
Some people told us they had concerns about how the records were inaccurate or blatant falsifications and sometimes even had the wrong name on them. They also told us that medication was not managed effectively and that they believed some medication records were inaccurately completed and false information was recorded.
We were told stories of carers not turning up, of people having to phone the office for help and of people being charged for visits that were not made. We were also told stories of care staff failing to respond appropriately to quite serious situations where people were put at risk or significant harm.
