This is a home with five residents who have lived there for a number of years. On the day of our visit we spoke with the providers and four of the residents who were at home at the time of the visit. We also had responses from external agencies including social services .This helped us to gain a balanced overview of what people experienced living at Rivacre.

During the inspection we looked at how care was delivered, looked at how peoples nutritional needs were being met. We also observed how medication was being managed and how the views of people were taken into account.

People we spoke with about the service told us they had lived together for a long time. One resident said, 'I have everything I need here, it suits me'. They also told us staff were helpful, polite and supportive.

The two providers were on duty and displayed an in-depth awareness of residents care needs. We discussed individual needs of people living at the home with staff. The providers on duty at the time of the inspection told us, 'We know all the residents so well. Some have been with us for many years. We even have a couple who got married here'.

Some of the people living at the hom said they were encouraged to express themselves about their care and treatment. They said they thought they received the right care and support from the staff at the home, and that they felt safe and that the people working there knew how to care for them.
