All Inspections

During a routine inspection

42 people were living at the home when we visited. We talked with four of them as well as three visitors. We also spoke with the deputy manager and four staff.

The people we spoke with told us that they were happy with the home and the staff. One person told us, 'I've always been very happy here. It's marvellous in fact.'

One of the visitors said, 'I've nothing but praise, gratitude and admiration. I'm so glad she (their relative) is here. It's nice to be able to say she's safe, warm and comfortable and I know she's well looked after.'

Some of the people who lived at the home were not able to talk directly with us because of their dementia so we used different methods to see whether they received the care and support they needed. We used the Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a specific way of observing care to help us understand the experiences of people who could not talk with us.

Staff knew about the needs of the people they were caring for. We looked at care plans for four people and found that these contained guidance for staff on how to meet their needs. We saw that people's needs were reviewed regularly.

People told us that they felt safe living at the home and knew who to speak to if they had any concerns.

We saw that staff were supported to be trained to an appropriate standard and we looked at records which showed that the provider was regularly monitoring the quality of its service.
