During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people to find out their opinions of the service. People told us and we concluded from our findings at the inspection that people understood the choices available to them.

People were extremely complimentary about the service and the care and treatment they received. One person told us, 'It's a first class service.' We also spoke with a relative who commented, 'It's a terrific service.' The only complaints we received were from people who didn't want their time with the service to end.

People told us they felt safe with the staff who came into their homes. We concluded that people who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

We found minor concerns with the management of medication. We noted there was inadequate information in people's care plans concerning medication. We considered that people were therefore not fully protected against the risks associated with medicines.

People said they thought that staff were 'professional' and told us that staff knew what they were doing. We found that people were cared for by staff who were skilled and supported to deliver care and treatment safely.

People told us they could talk to staff if they were worried about anything, or if they had any complaints. We found systems were in place to assess the quality of the service and to identify and manage risks to people.
