During an inspection looking at part of the service

People said that staff members were polite, kind and respectful. They confirmed that their privacy and dignity was respected. They stated that they were involved in reviewing their care plan and were supported to make decisions regarding their immediate care needs and wishes.

People received the care and support they required to improve their health and well-being. Care records were written in enough detail to provide clear guidance to staff members.

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us staff members treated them with dignity and respect and spoke with them in a friendly, relaxed way. One person we spoke with told us, 'I like it here, it's not just a home, it's my home'. However, during our inspection we saw that people's dignity was not always maintained.

People told us they felt well cared for and that they received the treatment they expected. However, we found evidence during our inspection that where risks to people were identified, an associated plan of care was not always put in place to help staff provide appropriate care and support to people.

We saw that systems were in place to ensure people were protected from the unsafe use and management of medicines.

Staff members we spoke with told us they felt supported and well trained to be able to provide care support to people living at The Crown Rest Home.

We saw that there was an effective system in place to assess and monitor the quality of services provided by The Crown Rest Home.

During a routine inspection

Everyone told us that staff are caring and that they could not do a better job. When we

asked about any concerns or worries, we were told that people would feel confident about

talking to staff and felt they would be listened to.

We were told that the home is the best around and that people feel safe. Everyone told us

they are treated with dignity and respect, one person stated that some staff do 'that bit

extra and make us feel like family'. They also said that they enjoy talking to staff about

their family and children and feel this gives them an added interest.
