The Right Home Care Team Chesterfield is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living in their own home. The assessment took place between10 March and 4 June 2026. CQC only inspects where people are receiving a regulated activity, at the time of this inspection, 44people were receiving support in line with the regulated activities of personal care. This was the first inspection of this location since registration on 27 January 2022.

The registered manager was open with us throughout the assessment; the provider management team worked together to ensure consistently good outcomes for people.

The registered manager was receptive when improvements to recruitment records were identified during the assessment and initiated discussions with the provider to take action to address this.

The provider had developed an inhouse training team to ensure staff training was responsive and timely. The service had an identified infection prevention and control(IPC)lead and regular audits were completed.

Systems were in place for recording, reviewing and learning from incidents to reduce the risk of ongoing harm to people.

People's experience of the service

People were protected from abuse and avoidable harm. People told us they rated the organisation and staff highly and felt safe with them. People told us they had no concerns regarding the quality of the care they received. One relative told us, “They[staff]know what they are doing, it is a safe team”.

Care was provided by trained and competent staff. Times of visits were as expected, and people told us staff wore Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)and gave support with medicines as required. One person told us, “They[staff]are given constant training updates”.

People were involved in the assessments and reviews of their care needs. People felt they were listened to and their preferences had been taken into account. One relative told us, “Members of the family were involved with[relative’s]initial assessment,[relative]was present”.

People said they received a service which was flexible and responsive to their needs. People said they were supported by staff to maintain their independence. One relative told us, “I think they are the best care agency in the area. The standards are excellent, they care, I have no complaints”.
