During a routine inspection

Several people who live at the home have high dependency needs and were unable to communicate their experiences to us. We spoke with three people who use the service and two relatives.

The people we spoke with were happy with the care they received. One person told us, 'It's lovely, I couldn't ask for a better place.' Another person said, 'Linson Court is very good indeed; I have no complaints about the home or the staff. Both the relatives we spoke with were appreciative of the quality of care staff provided. One relative commented it was nice to see the person living in the home, 'So relaxed and settled.'

On the day of our inspection we spoke with two visiting health professionals. One of the visiting health professionals told us, 'People living at the home receive fantastic care; my observations are that staff are kind and respectful and nothing seems too much trouble.'

During an inspection in response to concerns

We spoke with some people who live at the home. Everyone we spoke to said that they were generally very happy with the home and the care they were receiving.

People said staff were 'polite and pleasant' at all times. Those who required support with mobility said that this was done 'gently' and that their dignity was maintained throughout. One person said, 'They look after my husband well. He doesn't want to leave here to come home so that says something about the care he is receiving here'.

People told us they felt safe at the home. They said that they would raise any concerns with management if they had any and had confidence that any issues would be dealt with properly.

A problem with the nurse call bell system had been rectified and people said this meant they were able to access help more easily if they needed staff to support them. Fire door guards had been fitted to bedroom doors so that people who liked to sit in their bedroom could have their doors open safely knowing that in the event of a fire the doors would be able to automatically close.

People said there were enough staff. One person said, 'I like the staff and the keep fit classes'. A visitor said, 'The staff are lovely and can not do enough for you'. People also said staff were 'caring and helpful'.
