We did not, on this occasion, speak to people about this outcome so cannot report what people using the service said.

People were very positive about their experience of care and support at the home. They said staff respected their privacy and dignity and their right to take informed risks in their daily lives. Their choices and preferences had been sought and taken into account when planning their care and support. They felt the home ensured their health needs were met. They said staff listened to them and respond to their needs and wishes. The following comment from a person using the service summed up the collective feedback and views of the people we spoke to. We were told, 'Staff cannot do enough for you, and they are all very kind and caring'.

People were also very satisfied with standards of cleanliness and hygiene and with the home's facilities. Overall they enjoyed the meals. They received a personal copy of the menu each week and had opportunity to contribute suggestions for the menu. Food preferences and dietary needs were known to catering staff and accommodated. Whilst an alternative option was not included in the lunch or supper time menus, people said catering staff were happy to cook a light meal for them if they preferred something different. They told us that from time to time management sought their views about the home. They felt their views and suggestions had been listened to and were valued.
