All Inspections

During a routine inspection

Care records contained enough information to show how people were to be supported and cared for. We spoke with two people using the service. They were complimentary about the staff and the care and support provided. Comments made included; 'They know what they are doing. If they didn't I would tell them' and 'The staff are great; very pleasant'.

One relative of a person using the service told us that overall they were satisfied with the staff and the care provided. They told us however that they did have some issues of concern around certain aspects of their relative's care. Following our inspection we were told that this was being addressed by the management team.

We saw that appropriate arrangements were in place to help safeguard people from abuse. One of the people using the service who we spoke with told us, 'I trust the staff and I feel safe with them. I wouldn't let them in if I didn't'.

We saw that systems were in place to help prevent and control infection within people's homes. The documents we looked at showed that staff were appropriately trained in infection control procedures and in basic food hygiene.

Arrangements were in place to ensure that people using the service were cared for by staff who were properly trained, supported and supervised.

The systems in place to monitor the service provided helped to protect people against the risks of inappropriate or unsafe care.

During a routine inspection

People's care records contained enough information to show how they were to be supported and cared for. The two people using the service that we spoke with told us, 'They are brilliant and I trust them' and 'I feel safe with them'.

Safe systems of medicine management and staff recruitment were in place ensuring the health, safety and well being of people using the service were protected.

An effective complaints procedure was in place. People knew how to make a complaint and were confident that their concerns would be listened to and acted upon.
