During a routine inspection
We found that the service fully assessed and planned the care and support of all people using the service. People had a detailed assessment of their care needs, which was carried out before the care was delivered. People also had detailed care plans, which provided instructions for staff on how to meet the needs of this person.
We found that people were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. There was a policy for both safeguarding adults, and safeguarding children. Staff had copies of these policies on a rewritable disc, which were updated when policies were reviewed.
We found that there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. The staffing level was maintained using a computer based rota system, and there were enough staff to cover sickness absence or annual leave periods.
We found that the service had an effective complaints procedure available. People using the service and their relatives were given a copy of the complaints procedure as part of a service user booklet.
